      Zakiya Dalila Harris '16 To Adapt Debut Novel for Hulu

      Zakiya Dalila Harris, a 2016 graduate of the MFA Creative Writing Program, has signed a deal to co-write and executive-produce an adaptation of her debut novel,The Other Black Girl, for Hulu. The novel will be published by Atria Books in 2021.

      Netflix Announces Adaptation of Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton's 'Tiny Pretty Things'

      Netflix announced the adaptation of Tiny Pretty Things (HarperTeen, 2015), a YA novel co-authored by 2012 MFA alumni Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton. A ten-episode hour-long drama series, Tiny Pretty Things is set to air on the streaming platform in 2020.

      Safia Elhillo '15 Awarded 2019-2021 Stegner Fellowship in Poetry

      Safia Elhillo, a 2015 alumna of the MFA Creative Writing Program, has been awarded a 2019-2021 Stenger Fellowship in Poetry by Stanford University. Elhillo is the author of The January Children (University of Nebraska Press, 2017), which won the 2016 Sillerman First Book Prize for African Poets and the 2018 Arab American Book Award.
