Rob Your Neighbor
This was ane of my favorite games at my baby shower.
In that location are many ways to play it, but the way my aunt gear up for my shower worked really well. It was exciting and fun for anybody.
It's a very high free energy game because you may really be running to the other side of the room.
Nosotros had my shower in a hall/gym at a church building. Y'all'll need a lot of space for this game.
Works all-time for:
Big showers of 25 or more than people with plenty of space
Supplies needed:
- Prizes wrapped in boxes or in bags then you can't see what they are. (Here are some prize ideas) One per team.
- Dice. Two per team
- Pie tins. One per team
- A timer (or a phone with a timer app)
How to play:
Split your guests into teams. You can do this by table if you accept three-six people per tabular array. I suggest 6 every bit a max per team.
Each team gets a pie tin with two dice. The pie tins make information technology easier to proceed the die in one spot when y'all roll them and easier to pass around.
Put all of the prizes in the middle or upwardly at the front. You should have one prize per team, only that doesn't mean that a prize has to get to each team.
Anyone tin can win whatever of the prizes.
It'southward only a skillful idea to accept enough that at least 1 person per team could win.
Also please annotation: fifty-fifty though people are on teams, they're actually competing against each other. It's an every-woman-for-herself type of game. The teams are simply a style to share the dice so information technology's more than fair.
Set a timer for withal long you want. At to the lowest degree 5 minutes probably not more than 15.
Each person in a team takes a plow rolling the dice.
If you roll a double, you lot get to take hold of a prize and pass the dice to the next person in your team. If you lot don't roll a double, you just pass the dice to the side by side person. And it continues around the team until the timer goes off.
One time all of the prizes are gone from the forepart or center, you are gratis to catch Whatever prize from someone else. Hence, "rob your neighbor."
Everyone running around grabbing prizes from each other really gets your adrenaline going. It's a lot of fun!
When the timer goes off, everyone that has a prize in their possession gets to proceed them!
Yous might want to inform your guests that they are not immune to hibernate the prizes. Nosotros had issues with that! lol
The Beautiful Game
I dear this game considering I hate when everyone comments "how cute!" later on EVERY. Unmarried. GIFT.
So some lovely person invented this game to force people to come with more words to depict baby items. "Adorable" is usually anybody'southward go-to after cute is taken away from their vocabulary.
This ane can be very competitive, and yous have to be a footling creative with your word choice.
It'southward too piece of cake to quietly sit out for friends that hate baby shower games.
Works best for:
Any size shower
Supplies needed:
- Beaded necklaces (Pink , Blue , Gold , Multicolor) or ribbon with baby items. One per guest.
- A thesaurus (optional)
How to Play:
Mitt out a necklace to each role player earlier the gift opening.
You tin employ beaded necklaces or use ribbon and tie something babe related to it. I've seen plastic pacifiers used.
My mom threw a shower once for my cousin and used baby items like rattles, existent pacifiers, and small stuffed animals. The mommyhoped-for gets to go along them subsequently the game is over!
While the new mom is opening her gifts, no one is immune to say the give-and-take "cute."
If someone does say it, anyone can telephone call them out on information technology. The person who calls them out gets their necklace.
Subsequently all of the gifts have been opened, the person with the most necklaces wins!
Anyone that loses their necklace during the game isn't automatically out. They can still call out other people and get necklaces dorsum.
Cake Plate Roulette
This game requires no skill or involvement. So it'south perfect for all of your friends that say "I detest babe shower games!"
In that location's no jumping through hoops to play this game. You don't accept to awkwardly try to sit out. Y'all don't have to have knowledge of every infant item on the market.
You only become to swallow cake!
Works all-time for:
Any size shower but especially easy for big showers.
Supplies needed:
- Cake plates
- A pen or Sharpie
How to play:
Before the party, draw or write something on the bottom of 1 of the block plates. Make information technology small so it'south non obvious through the height of it.
So randomly mix it back in with the rest of the block plates.
Don't tell the guests nigh the game before serving block. They might try to wait for the winning plate.
Serve block usually, and in one case everyone has a cake plate in their hand tell them about the game.
Whoever has the doodle or word written on the bottom wins a prize!
I drew a penguin on the bottom of the plate for my BFF'south penguin themed shower. (She's really into penguins.)
But you tin can only mark an X if you want or write the mom'southward name or baby's name.
Super simple setup and no large fuss.
Time-Flop Gift
Okay, so there really isn't a proper noun for this game. I just made that up. Information technology'southward another game that doesn't require involvement.
The only playing component to this game is luck.
Another good i for Debbie Downers who don't want to play baby shower games.
Works best for:
Any size shower merely especially easy big showers.
Supplies needed:
- A timer or timer app.
- Confetti (optional)
How to play:
This is another game to play during gift opening (get effigy!) then before it starts, set a timer for a random time.
Try to approximate how long information technology will accept the new mommy to open up her gifts and plan a time somewhere in the middle.
Y'all tin either show the time to anybody or keep it a surprise.
Personally, I like to go on information technology hidden so people aren't eyeing how far back their gift is and keeping an eye on the time.
When the timer goes off, throw confetti over the mommyhoped-for. You tin totally skip this part if you don't want to bargain with the mess.
Only if you're in a place that cleans up for yous, go for it! Information technology's a great improver to the game!
The person who gave the present the new mom is opening when the timer goes off is the winner. It's the "timebomb!"
Baby Shower Bingo
Bingo is one of the most common infant shower games. Information technology's the simply traditional game that I've plant about people like!
Who doesn't like to play bingo?
I pretty much expect this game at every shower I get to because information technology's so pop. Information technology'south very competitive, and I become in prepared!
It's all almost what y'all give the mommyhoped-for! Just brand a line with items yous gave her and promise your gift is opened at the start! lol
This is a great game to get everyone involved with the gift opening ceremony. Yes, information technology's a ceremony because we all fawn over each baby thing.
Without a game during present-time, it'due south kind of dull. I mean, yes, it's nice to see what she received, and yous want to encounter her open your gift.
But let's face it, it'due south ho-hum. With bingo, there'southward an incentive to pay attention to each and every gift!
Works best for:
Any size shower
Supplies needed:
- Bingo cards – I got that covered for y'all! Here are FREE Bingo cards!
- Pens or pencils
- Hi-liters or tokens to marker the spaces with (optional)
How to play:
Hand out the bingo cards before gift opening starts.
Give everyone at least v minutes to fill out their card with items they remember the mom-to-exist will receive.
The middle infinite is a free space (manifestly).
As the new mommy opens her gifts, everyone can mark off the items on their cards. In one case someone has a line across, BINGO!
You lot can continue playing if you have extra prizes to give out. Most of the baby showers I've been to have done at to the lowest degree two bingoes if not 3.
Someone might get bingo within the first 5 presents so information technology's best to give out at least ii prizes for bingo.
If you get more than i bingo at a time and not plenty prizes, you'll need to do a tie breaker game. See tie breakers for baby shower games hither.
Mad Libs nearly Mom and Dad
This is my absolute favorite baby shower game! I'grand a grammer nerd and so I love Mad Libs.
Nosotros had so much fun playing this game at my shower, and information technology's not 1 you come across at every single shower. So it didn't experience similar I had done it a hundred times before.
It's also a game where you get rewarded for being funny and creative. That's my kinda game!
The hard part about this game is coming upwardly with a Mad Lib that works. I got you lot covered though. I fabricated a Mad Lib (and tested information technology!) that is a letter to the babe from each guest telling him or her about Mommy and Daddy.
You tin keep them for the infant to read when he or she gets older, as well! So it's a nice keepsake likewise.
The printable comes in blue, pink, and green so you can either go gendered or not.
Works best for:
Pocket-size to medium showers of fewer than 20 people
Supplies needed:
- Mad Libs baby shower printable. Get it here for only $v!
- Pens or pencils
How to play:
Start out past handing out pens or pencils and the respond sail total of blanks to the guests.
Allow them time to fill in their funny word choices. This game takes some creativity.
You might likewise want to go over what the parts of speech are. (I didn't include adverbs in mine because no i remembers what they do! lol)
There are a few ways you lot tin can read the answers:
- Gather all of the answer sheets, go through them, and option the funniest i for each blank. Then read it aloud to everyone.
- Anybody holds onto their answers. You read the story and when you get to a blank ask the guests what they had. Yous don't take to do each and every person. It tin be on a volunteer basis.
- Hand out the story to everyone and so they can make full information technology in. Have a few volunteers read theirs aloud.
You can decide a winner based on who had the funniest story as a whole or merely the funniest answer for one blank.
